Hammersmith flyover latest
by Administrator on Jan.13, 2012, under Uncategorized
Dear Mr Glass,
I am writing to let you know that one lane in each direction of the Hammersmith Flyover is now open for cars, vans and other light traffic. A 6″6’ (2.0m) width restriction is currently in place at either end of the flyover.
Our investigations into the damaged cables within the inside of the bridge have confirmed that we will need to continue work to strengthen key sections of the flyover. This is expected to take around four months to complete.
Whilst reopening to light traffic will significantly reduce disruption, I would like to apologise for the delays this essential maintenance work is causing and assure you that we will continue to work as quickly as possible to reopen the flyover to all traffic.
