performance rights society want my money

I have been informed by the prs that i need a licence if customers can hear the radio. This includes talk sport and radio 5.
First they sent me a letter(junk mail i thought).I called them and they informed me i didnt need a licence for my house but that in the van it was different.Seems that even your taxi driver will be falling foul of the prs rules if he has his radio on.I imagine that the prs staff must get lots of free rides.
They gave me a number for the mcps prs alliance 0207 580 5544 and they gave me the freephone number 0800 068 4828. These people are worse than traffic wardens.Looks like i will have to disconnect the radio each time i start a job.

Wow!
That’s just ridiculous. I could understand it if you had a shop or something but in a vehicle – no way!
We don’t carry passengers in our vans so that solves that problem for us, however should the PRS raise it’s ugly head I’ll be sure to laugh them out the door.
